Notes From The Roaster

Grown on the rich red slopes of Mount Kenya, Kii coffee is the heartfelt result of small farmers’ dedication and Rungeto Cooperative’s careful craftsmanship—bringing to life the vibrant, complex flavors that define the very soul of Kenyan coffee.

Discover our unique coffee from the Kirinyaga region, grown by small-scale producers on the fertile slopes of Mount Kenya. This exceptional batch, made up of the SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11 and Batain varieties, is grown at altitudes ranging from 1310 to 1900 meters. With marked fruity notes of grapefruit, blackcurrant and molasses, this AB-grade washed coffee is dried in greenhouses for perfect control of the process. We got our hands on the latest bags of this 87-point rated coffee, which underlines its remarkable sensory profile. The Nordik Café team.

Perched in the southern foothills of Mount Kenya, on rich red volcanic soil, the areas surrounding the Kii factory are ideal for producing some of Kenya's finest coffees. Farmers in these fertile foothills typically grow around 250 coffee trees on half-acre plots and deliver their crops to the Kii factory. This factory is one of three run by the Rungeto Farmers' Cooperative Society (FCS), a small cooperative renowned for the quality of its processing and meticulous attention to detail.
